The goal of afternoon courses is to provide students with the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities after school. These activities should align with their interests and allow them to develop academically and athletically outside the classroom. Most importantly, afternoon courses should be enjoyable for children.

  • Through the monthly info-mail.
  • In the school calendar.
  • In the afternoon course calendar.
Q: How is transportation organized?

The responsibility for organizing transportation to get home falls on the parents when the child attends afternoon classes. The school does not cover transportation.

The courses are coordinated with the departure times of the school buses. However, since RIS course times do not coincide with bus times in most cases, parents must arrange their own ride home for their children. Montri buses run Monday through Thursday at 14:30 hours and 16:05 hours. On Friday, the Montri bus leaves at 14:30 hours. An additional bus runs at 17:00 hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, if needed, and is organized in consultation with RIS.

Q: How is the afternoon course program organized in terms of schedule?

In the season four, only a few courses or childcare on request will be offered. There are no courses in the week before the Christmas and summer breaks.

Q: At what time do the afternoon courses take place?

The short courses (45 minutes), mainly for younger children, take place from 13:35 to 14:20 hours.

The long courses (90 minutes) take place from 14:35 to 16:05 hours.

EDP-Courses at RIS take place from 15:00 to 16:00 hours.

Q: What is the difference between a 45-minute course and a 90-minute course?

The 45-minute course is primarily intended for children from preschool (kindergarten to basis level). The 90-minute course is normally attended by students from grade 1 up to grade 6.

Q: What are the course fees for internal afternoon courses?

A 45-minute course costs 1,800 THB.

A 90-minute course costs 3,600 THB

Course costs from external providers vary by vendor and differ from course costs of internal courses.

Q: What is the minimum number of participants for each course?

The minimum number of participants for internal courses is 7.

The minimum number of participants for external courses is defined by the vendor.

Q: How is supervision between the end of school and afternoon classes regulated?

Between the end of school and the afternoon program, no students up to and including 6th grade are allowed to be unsupervised in the school building.

All students who are waiting unsupervised for an afternoon class, for their parents to pick them up, or for the school bus must go to childcare.

Childcare costs 200 THB for 45 minutes.

Care passes can be purchased at the office.

Q: Is it possible to change from one course to another?

We assume that children consciously choose a course and therefore stay in this course. Nevertheless, there is the possibility to change to another course after the first week, if there are still enough spots in the other course and the change does not cause the original course to fall short of the minimum number of participants. A change of course must always be discussed with the course instructor and approved by the coordinator of the afternoon courses. Students are not permitted to cancel or change courses after Week 2 is completed.

Q: Is it possible to enter an ongoing course?

Yes, if there are still enough spots available in the corresponding course. If the student joins an ongoing course before and up to half of the course time, the full amount must be paid. After half of the already completed courses, the course amount will be halved. A change of course must always be approved by the coordinator of the afternoon courses.

Q: What about course cancellations?

Course cancellations will be compensated between two seasons or in the new season, if possible, after individual agreement between the course instructors and the participants.

Q: Is it possible to be excluded from a course?

Yes. Course instructors will establish rules, which will be communicated to the students and parents at the beginning of the course. If children do not want to follow these rules, they will receive appropriate feedback, followed by the parents if necessary. In case of further rule violations, the child may be expelled from the course after consultation with the parents and the afternoon course coordinator. In this case, the course fees will not be refunded.
